During King’s Day Amsterdam on Saturday the 26^th of April we celebrate the birthday of King Willem-Alexander. Experience this fantastic party! King’s Day is usually celebrated on April 27, but if this date happens to be on a Sunday, the festivities are moved to the Saturday before. This is because of the Christian value of Sunday rest.

It’s actually as if you’re in a pub. There you are also partying with “strangers”, but that certainly does not make it less fun.   Gisteren zijn mijn partner en ik meegeweest met de Magical Light Tour van Floating Amsterdam, en het was werkelijk een magische ervaring. Onze schipper René, een echte Amsterdammer, maakte de tocht extra bijzonder. Met zijn humor en leuke weetjes vertelde hij op een ontspannen en interessante manier over de stad en de lichtkunstwerken. Dat gaf de tour echt een persoonlijke en gezellige sfeer. De vaart door de Amsterdamse grachten is op zichzelf al prachtig, maar in combinatie met de indrukwekkende lichtkunstwerken werd het helemaal af. Het was romantisch, sfeervol en tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Er waren warme kleedjes aanwezig en zowel warme als koude drankjes, waardoor je heerlijk comfortabel kon genieten. Wij hebben enorm genoten en gaan dit in de zomer zeker nog een keer doen. Absoluut een aanrader voor iedereen die Amsterdam eens op een andere, betoverende manier wil beleven ✨🚤

  Fantastic and authentic canal experience with Floating Boats Amsterdam The Light Festival 2025 tour was amazing — very informative, relaxed, and with a great atmosphere. Small groups, a very personal vibe, and a skipper who is genuinely friendly and passionate about what he does. (I also loved the cool playlist that matched each art piece 😄) We already joined a Floating Boats tour back in 2019 and had such a great experience that it was an easy decision to come back. Highly recommended if you want a unique and authentic way to experience Amsterdam from the water — without the typical crowded tourist boat feeling. Unfortunately, it was pretty cold… so we might just have to come back again in spring! ✨
